Elevens Commitment To Mental Health Awareness Month
by eleven | Jun 1, 2025 |
For mental health awareness month we were each asked to think of a way that we can each focus on our mental health, something meaningful and measurable.
Starting from June I am going to make a daily commitment to focus on my mental mindfulness. My aim for this will be to commit to 5 mins, every day (ideally at the same time to build routine, or ritual). During this time I will find a quiet place to sit, reflect on my day, what I am grateful for, and to just breathe. No devices (timer excluded!) just myself – body and mind.
I have found an app that will not only track progress and completion of this, but also for me to make notes on my reflections.
I decided on this as I have been reading more
and more into wellbeing, mental health and how we don’t find the time in busy schedules with work and/or family to stop and take a moment. I’m hoping doing this will let me stop, reflect and pull out my achievements for the day, to breathe and re-centre.
It’s also important to remember that not every day may finish good, but most days if not all will have good parts in it and these we should remember.
What a beautiful intention to begin June with. Creating that quiet, undistracted space, just you, your breath, and your thoughts, is a powerful act of self-discipline and self-respect. I’m proud of you for claiming that time each day. Keep showing up for yourself, even when the day has been messy. That is when the ritual matters most. Keep going my good boy. You’re doing something important.
Thank you for not only the kind words and for giving me the confidence and encouragement to be comfortable with who I am, and that being just me is ok.
Great post 11! Guys in general are not great at focusing on mental health. And let’s face it – being a sub in service requires a high level of emotional intelligence. We can’t take care of her until we’ve worked our own shit out!
