My Health Awareness Goal

My goal is to get more and better quality of sleep. This is a problem I’ve had for a number of years. I thought it might have been stress from being a manager with my job. However, now I’m working when I want ( about 2 days week ) and still not getting enough sleep. I have consulted with my physician about this problem and she wanted ti prescribe medication to help with sleep. I asked her for another solution as I try to avoid medications if at all possible. She then suggested I use melatonin but that it would take time before I realized any benefit. She also suggested some lifestyle changes that could help.
The goal; I’ve started taking melatonin every evening before going to bed, and not eating past 5 or 6p. Next week I will start monitoring my sleep for improvement. If I’m not seeing improvement I will consult with my physician for another plan of action.
An important goal indeed. I read that men were often programmed to not get enough sleep – must get up, get to work, make the money. Sleep is crucial and so many of us, Dommes included, tend to burn those candles on both ends.
