there’s something so peaceful about preparing a bath for Madam. it’s one of my favorite quiet rituals, and every time i do it, i try to make it perfect. not just clean, not just hot, but perfect.

i love testing the water with my hand, adjusting the temperature until it’s just right. i pick the scent based on her mood, like lavender if she’s tired, eucalyptus if she’s had a long day, or rose if she’s feeling romantic. i swirl in the bath oils, or bubbles if she wants them, and place her towel where it will stay warm.

if it’s nighttime, i dim the lights and light candles. i make sure she has her favorite drink within reach. sometimes it’s wine, sometimes tea, sometimes just ice water with lemon. i might bring a book, or her tablet, or just nothing at all if she wants quiet.

i lay out her robe. i put music on if she asks. i fluff a pillow for her neck. and when she steps in, i kneel nearby unless she tells me to go. sometimes she talks to me while she soaks, sometimes she tells me to read to her. sometimes she tells me to hush and just be there.

what i love most is the trust. that she lets me care for her this way. that i get to turn her bathroom into a sanctuary. and after her bath, when i help her dry off, or wrap her in a robe, or lotion her skin, duckie feels like the luckiest little bathboy in the world.
