Interview eight was a gentleman who has already retired. His professional life was spent in accounting, and his submissive experience is limited but sincere. He has served only one Domme, and only once in his life. Never married. He did, however, spend one full year in youth training and service as a service sub. That experience was decades ago, but it clearly shaped him.
He did well in the interview. He knows how to present himself, how to speak respectfully, and how to listen. His posture, tone, and manners were excellent. If I were building a larger household with multiple subs, he would make an exceptional head of house. He has leadership instincts and a natural sense of order.
That is also where my hesitation comes in. I am not looking to manage layers of hierarchy right now. I need someone fresh enough to be shaped fully by my standards. This candidate came in with very firm ideas about what service should look like, what is right and wrong, and how things ought to be done. Some of those ideas simply do not align with how I run my home.
Age is not the issue. Flexibility is. I need someone I can mold completely, not someone who needs to unlearn decades of ingrained expectations.
He is impressive, just not quite right for what I am building. He’s on the ‘maybe’ pile. The search continues.
