Interview nine has a name now. Ben accepted our offer and officially starts January 2. I am relieved, satisfied, and very much looking forward to settling into a rhythm with him in place.
Before that, I decided to wrap up a few remaining applicants. Now that I have my boy secured, I can finally find some humor in how unlucky parts of this process were.
One man made it all the way to the oral service discussion before casually admitting that he does not do that with women. Turns out he is gay. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it does make him a poor fit for this household.
Another was a college student hoping to continue his studies while working. He is in law school. That alone gave me pause. We did have a very intense and enjoyable session together, and he surprised me with how naturally he leaned into power exchange. The job is not for him, but he did earn himself an open invitation to return as a playmate.
Then there was Jason. Late twenties, confident, experienced, and very clear about what he wanted. Unfortunately, a little conversation revealed that his mother is the superintendent of my children’s school district. We both agreed that was far too close for comfort. I prefer my Femdom life nowhere near my kids’ school world, and he was equally uninterested in explaining his employment to his parents. Mutual and immediate no.
There were a few others worth mentioning. One man talked endlessly about how previous Dommes had done things, correcting me as if this were a discussion group instead of an interview. Another showed up late and blamed traffic, then his phone, then me for scheduling during rush hour. One more spent the entire interview trying to negotiate boundaries before any had been set.
Looking back, it was a strange mix. But the process worked. Ben is starting soon, and I am confident in the choice. Now I can close this chapter, enjoy the outcome, and finally stop interviewing men who clearly were never meant for my home.
