I keep my lifestyle very private from my vanilla world. I have kids, and my choices will never interfere with their lives. Because of that, Ben exists publicly as our manny. Helpful, reliable, and quietly part of the household.

That said, I do have a small circle of close girlfriends who know the truth. They understand my dynamic with Cody and have seen glimpses of how our household really works. They have not met Ben yet, and I have decided it is time to change that.

I am hosting a small gathering this weekend, just two of them are coming over for something very intentional. I want to observe how Ben handles new energy, new expectations, and being placed fully in a service role with others present.

This will be different from how Cody has been involved with my friends in the past. There have always been clear structures and boundaries guiding those interactions. Tonight, I am taking a step back and allowing my friends more freedom in how they engage with Ben, within his established limits. In other words – I won’t be holding them back!

For him, this will be a test of composure, adaptability, and willingness to serve without hesitation. For me, it is an opportunity to watch, evaluate, and see how he performs when the dynamic expands beyond just our household.

I have a feeling it is going to be a very revealing evening. I will report back next week.
