Tomorrow is Opposite Day, January 25. It is not an official observance, but it is one that kink culture has embraced for years. It is often used for role reversals, temporary power swaps, and structured inversion scenes, always negotiated and consensual.

In my house, Opposite Day has its own tradition. Each year, I choose one of my boys to step briefly into the dominant role, and he and I share a session that flips our usual dynamic. It is controlled, intentional, and very educational for both of us.

Before he and I play, he will administer a whipping to the other three boys, under my supervision. It is part warm-up, part lesson, and part mindset shift. Taking the role of the dominant requires focus, care, and intention. I want him fully in that headspace before he ever lays a hand on me.

This kind of role reversal is valuable training. It reminds him that dominance is not just power. It is work. It is awareness. It is responsibility. And for me, it is a chance to reconnect with the submissive headspace, to remember how it feels to surrender control, even briefly.

Tomorrow, I will be the one tied up. He will be the one giving orders. And when the day is done, we will both return to our proper places with a deeper understanding of what we give each other all year long.
