Following the wise guidance from Mistress Heather’s article, I decided to implement a simple but effective punishment for thing2 today—a timeout.

He had made plans to go play basketball with friends, which would have been fine if he had actually asked permission first. But he didn’t. And when I informed him that I already had plans for him (a rather long list of cleaning duties in preparation for my mother’s visit), he had the audacity to throw a fit.

That kind of behavior is unacceptable, so here we are. One hour of standing in the corner, reflecting on his choices. He’s currently at the 35-minute mark, looking rather sorry for himself. I have no doubt he’ll think twice before making plans without permission again!
