what i gave Madam

every year, giving Madam her gifts is one of my favorite responsibilities. it is not about price or size. it is about knowing her, paying attention, and choosing things that feel like they came from me and only me.
there is always a piece of jewelry. that part is tradition. this year it was an antique brooch. delicate, elegant, and absolutely her. the kind of piece with history in it, something that looks like it has already lived a life before finding its way to her. seeing her pin it on made my chest feel tight in the best way.
i also buy her books every year. Madam is not great at picking out “fun” reading for herself, especially fiction, so that is my job. i choose six novels for her each year. i put a lot of thought into them, themes she might enjoy, writing styles she will appreciate, stories that suit her moods. i am proud to say i have a pretty good track record. over the years, there have only been a couple she did not enjoy or chose not to finish, which feels like a real win.
there is always something homemade too. this year, i framed a photograph i took of her at the old estate. she was standing on the upper deck, watching the sunset, completely unaware i was behind her. the light was perfect. she looked powerful and calm and beautiful. when she opened it, she got quiet. she really loved it, which meant everything to me.
and then there is the unique gift. the one that takes hunting, patience, and a little luck. this year, that came from an old collector friend in amsterdam. he reached out to me after buying an estate lot that included a box of old stag films, dating from the 1930s through maybe the 1960s. buried in the box were five reels that were very clearly femdom focused.
Madam loves old films. we have projectors and everything. these were incredible for their time. grainy, dramatic, and surprisingly bold. one reel featured a group of college-aged looking men being spanked one at a time by a confident, older woman who absolutely owned the room. it was wildly kinky, especially knowing how old the footage was.
watching her discover those reels, seeing her smile and lean forward like a kid finding treasure, made all the effort worth it.
giving Madam gifts is one of the ways i say thank you. for saving me. for choosing me. for keeping me. for letting me know her well enough to get it right.
Very thoughtful, Duckie! Really love the photo idea!! A thought: after Madam’s enjoyed them, consider having the reels digitized. Retain the originals, for sure, but use the digiutal ones after wards to protect the fragile celluloid from wear. Just a thought.
