Don’t Ignore Numbness

by | Jun 14, 2026 | 0 comments

A little soreness after a scene can be normal. Numbness is different. If your hands, feet, fingers, toes, or any other body part feels numb, tingly, or “asleep” during or after play, take it seriously. These sensations can be signs that a nerve is being compressed or that circulation has been restricted. Bondage, prolonged positions, and tight restraints are common causes.

Most temporary numbness resolves quickly once pressure is removed, but if sensation does not return within a reasonable amount of time, or if weakness accompanies it, seek medical attention. Nerve injuries can sometimes take weeks or months to heal, and some may become permanent if ignored. A good submissive pays attention to his body’s warning signs. Temporary discomfort may be part of a scene. Lasting injury should never be.
