The head should never be treated casually during physical play. If an accidental fall or impact involves the head, stop and assess the situation rather than immediately continuing the scene. Headache, dizziness, confusion, memory problems, nausea, unusual sleepiness, balance problems, or changes in vision can be signs of a concussion.

Symptoms do not always appear immediately, so continue paying attention afterward. Significant or worsening symptoms require prompt medical evaluation, and severe symptoms can be an emergency. No scene, punishment, or command is important enough to gamble with a brain injury.
