Who Sits On The Throne Matters

Today is Independence Day in the United States. As we gather to celebrate a day symbolizing freedom and independence, it’s essential to reflect on what these ideals mean today. Freedom is not a guarantee but a continuous effort requiring vigilance and action.

In this pivotal moment, as we approach the upcoming presidential elections, we must be acutely aware of the potential paths our country could take. The Founding Fathers fought fiercely against the notion of an all-powerful ruler after enduring the tyranny of a king. Today, with the Supreme Court’s recent decisions, we face the possibility of an Imperial President wielding unprecedented power.

Who we choose to sit in that throne matters more than ever before.

Our current choices are between two tired old men. But don’t be fooled into thinking their similarities extend beyond their age. This decision is critical, and its implications are profound. Women’s rights, sexual health, LGBTQ rights, and the very fabric of our democracy are at stake.

On this day of celebrating freedom, let us recommit to protecting it. Our choices, our actions, and our voices are the tools we have to ensure that freedom endures.
