Dear Levi’s Fiancée,

Apparently today is World Gratitude Day, so I’m supposed to thank a woman who has made a meaningful impact on my life. This feels almost unfairly easy.

Thank you.

Thank you for welcoming me into your relationship and trusting me with a role that I genuinely enjoy. I’ve been involved with plenty of couples over the years, but what you’ve built is different. You know exactly what you want, you communicate it clearly, and you have absolutely no problem exercising the authority Levi has given you. I appreciate that about you more than you probably realize.

I appreciate the confidence you have in your ownership of him. You never seem embarrassed by it or compelled to soften it for somebody else’s benefit. Levi is your property because that’s the relationship the two of you chose, and you make him live up to that choice.

Fortunately for me, sometimes that means I benefit too.

Thank you, for example, for discovering that Levi is perfectly capable of doing my laundry. There’s something wonderfully ridiculous about leaving clothes at your place after an overnight visit and knowing that the man whose fiancée I’ve been enjoying will be the one washing, drying, folding, and returning them. I’ve spent years doing my own laundry like some kind of sucker. Apparently I just needed a cuck.

Thank you for teaching him to be useful in general. Coffee in the morning. Food when I need it. Cleaning things up. Fetching something you’ve decided I should have. You have taken a man who could simply stand around feeling sorry for himself and turned him into somebody who contributes to the evening.

And yes, thank you for teaching Levi to be so damn good with his mouth.

I’ll leave the graphic details to everyone’s imagination, but that particular skill didn’t develop accidentally. You trained him. You established the expectation, corrected the technique, and apparently refused to accept mediocre work. I have personally benefited from your commitment to quality control. Your dedication to education is inspiring.

Mostly, though, I’m thankful for the trust. There are plenty of people who fantasize about this kind of relationship. Actually living it requires something more. You have to know your partner. You have to understand where humiliation becomes exciting, where service becomes meaningful, and where everyone’s boundaries actually are.

You know your boy extremely well. And Levi gets to live with the consequences of that knowledge.

So on World Gratitude Day, thank you for the laughs, the experiences, the occasional clean laundry, the very well-trained fiancé, and the privilege of being invited into the strange and incredibly fun relationship you’ve created together.

You are an amazing woman. Levi is a lucky man.
