holy crap.

so Mistress Amanda’s search for a winter intern has apparently gotten some attention.

starting a week ago she had me send classified ads to a few university papers, we put notices in a handful of places online, and then her article ran in the Magazine explaining what she’s looking for. i figured we’d hear from some guys.

we’ve had 82 requests for the initial questionnaire.

EIGHTY-FUCKING-TWO.

now, before Mistress Amanda starts preparing accommodations for a small army of college boys, there’s a pretty significant difference between asking for the questionnaire and actually completing the damn thing. so far, only about a dozen guys have sent theirs back.

which i understand.

the first questionnaire is roughly 100 questions.

yes, 100.

it’s mostly pretty straightforward stuff, though. education, background, experience, personality, goals, availability, what they’re hoping to learn, and enough other information for Mistress Amanda to decide whether somebody might be worth considering. it’s long because she isn’t looking for somebody to come hang out in california for a few months. she’s looking for someone she actually wants to train.

thankfully, duckie is not making that decision.

my job is basically admissions-office receptionist.

guy contacts us.

duckie sends giant questionnaire.

guy completes giant questionnaire.

duckie forwards giant questionnaire to myung, one of Mistress Amanda’s two current summer interns.

once she reviews his answers, Mistress Amanda has myung let me know whether she wants that applicant invited to the next stage.

that’s when things get considerably more serious.

step two has fewer questions, but they’re much more detailed and personal. candidates also submit a set of fully nude photographs, without faces, so Mistress Amanda can evaluate them as part of the application.

naturally, i asked her whether she had a particular body type she was looking for.

her answer?

“impressionable.”

well.

apparently duckie was asking the wrong question.

and honestly, that one word probably tells you more about what Mistress Amanda wants than anything i could write here. she’s not searching for the prettiest applicant. she’s looking for a young man she believes has the temperament, attitude, potential, and willingness to actually be trained.

and she’s already moving candidates forward.

so if you’re an adult college student, you’re interested in taking winter term away from school, and spending that time interning under Mistress Amanda in sunny california sounds like your particular flavor of insanity…

you might want to get moving.

because apparently there are some guys who really want this.
