new diet plan

my new diet (thanks to miss jessica) is all about eating healthy. which is fine, i guess, except now i’m being force-fed every green thing imaginable. thankfully, broccoli isn’t required unless i land on it on the punishment wheel, but everything else? fair game. and jessica conspired with cook, so now every meal is basically a forest on a plate. it’s disturbing.
but here’s the kicker—the punishment for not finishing my food is immediate and severe. i found this out the hard way last night when i left some asparagus untouched. thought i was being slick. nope.
i got called into the kitchen, fully expecting a beating (because cook does not play around), but instead? she handed me a plate piled with asparagus. way more than i’d left behind. and here’s the worst part—it wasn’t just extra from the kitchen. it was also leftovers from other people’s plates. yeah. gross.
so yeah, lesson learned. i will clean my plate. every. single. time.
I used to be that way about greens duckie. But over the years I’ve come to like most green food. Also the way some greens are prepared turn out to be delicious. Ive never liked turnip greens. Back in the day when my mother would cook them the aroma used to turn my stomach while being cooked. Not long ago I tried some turnip greens in a cajun inspired restaurant (after much coaxing) and they were really good!
