DomU Summer-26 Games: Challenge nine

I knew when I created this challenge that we’d get some interesting results, but you boys definitely found ways to surprise me. Giving you a summer theme and telling you to get creative resulted in exactly the strange little art exhibition I was hoping for.

Creativity was worth half your main score for a reason. I didn’t want everyone doing the obvious thing. I wanted ideas, effort, and a presentation that showed you’d actually thought about the assignment before taking your photograph. Some of you clearly understood that, and originality made a big difference in my scoring.

I also enjoyed seeing who really embraced the summer portion of the challenge. That wasn’t just decoration around the edges. It was an opportunity to take your original idea and turn it into something that immediately made me think of summer. And, yes, making me smile helped too.

Overall, I’m pleased with what you boys created. Some were clever, some were ridiculous, and a few had me wondering exactly how you came up with the idea in the first place. That’s what I wanted.

Good work, boys. You took my slightly absurd idea seriously enough to make it fun, and you’ve given us one of the more unusual galleries of the Summer Games.
