If you begin to feel floaty, distant, numb, or as if you are watching yourself from outside your body during a scene, you may be dissociating. Sometimes this can feel calming, but it can also interfere with communication and awareness. When you are not fully present, you may miss pain signals, safeword cues, or emotional triggers. Dissociation can be a response to stress or past trauma. Learn your personal warning signs and discuss them with your Domme ahead of time. If it happens, pause and ground yourself. Safe submission requires presence, not disappearance.

Seconded! My Wife has occasional bouts of dissociation due to past trauma and it’s no joke! If you feel any of the above, tell your Domme immediately!
