Know Your Medications

by | Jun 22, 2026 | 0 comments

Many submissives take prescription medications, but few stop to consider how those medications might affect a scene. Some drugs can lower blood pressure, making dizziness or fainting more likely during kneeling, bondage, or strenuous activity. Others can affect hydration, pain perception, heart rate, sexual function, or emotional responses. Even over-the-counter medications can have unexpected effects.

Take time to understand what you’re taking and how it affects your body. Read the information provided by your pharmacist, ask questions, and be honest with your Domme about any relevant medical concerns. A medication that makes you drowsy, dehydrated, or lightheaded may require adjustments to your play. Safe submission starts with knowing your body, and that includes understanding what your medications are doing behind the scenes.
