Lessons From Goddess: The Power of Pacing

More than a year ago, I was sharing some sexytime with my beloved domme. In between rounds of being scratched, slapped, tussled around on the carpet, delicious cunnilingus, and some of the most sensuous foot worship I could physically offer to a goddess… we found ourselves hanging around in her living room.
Happy and glowing, we paced around the room, following each other with big smiles, discussing everything from new scientific discoveries, politics, where we wanted to road-trip next, what scenes we wanted to try when we were ready to go back to it, to how much we love each other, and how we’ll always be there for each other. I adored every second of it…but I would never have called that exercise, you know? More on that in a second.
Mid conversation, she stops walking for a second, and she peers her lovely eye at her hi-tech watch. Something on it glows, and she jumps up like a kid who just got exactly what she wanted for the holidays. I know I shouldn’t have…but I cocked my head at her.
I would probably get beat for that later.
“I just reached ten miles! Awesome! Okay, it’s time for you… to get back on your knees.” Her passionate words hit me like jazz music.
But I had cocked my head, and I was definitely curious about what she meant. Ten miles? But we were just shooting the breeze. How did she go ten miles right under my ignorant nose?
It was then that my beloved Goddess told me about what she calls “pacing”.
I promise that it is much more than what it sounds like.
Ah, she’s poetry in motion!
Basically, anytime that my Queen finds herself engaged in a traditionally sedentary activity, she’ll try to do it in motion. If she’s watching television, she’s going to pace around the room as much as she can, hellbent on getting those ten miles in. If she’s folding clothes, she’s going to do it standing up, and have her folded pile on the other side of the room, so that she gets to walk her lovely feet just a few more steps. She moves her arms and hips actively as she walks, too. And if she finds herself with nothing to do at all…Well, my Queen will find us something to do.
My beloved is totally a type A personality. For her to be fully happy, she needs to be doing something productive. I believe this is what makes her such a positive, disciplined, and dominating presence in my life. I need a spur in my side to keep me productive as well. I am always a small part of her grand plans, and these plans are always in motion, just as human bodies were meant to be.
“The Goddess-Given Power of Pacing”
I am there in her kitchen when she wants to make bread, flattening out dough and cutting, as she glides from counter to counter, fully engrossed in the physical activity. I am there when she wants to rearrange the multitudes of tasteful decorations on the maximalist-style wall of her boudoir, lifting and reaching to her exact specifications. And I am always there in a hurry when she wants to wrestle me, and pin me to the ground. I love being her heavy bag, and am always open to receive her knockout combinations.
From the moment that she explained the concept of “pacing” to me, I was floored. I thought it was a genius idea, really. I was blown back that I had never thought of it before, it just made so much sense in a world where so many of us are just not getting the physical activity we should be. Clearly the knowing, all powerful mind of the dominant lady eclipsed that of the silly little slave. I thought it was marvelous.
Had I been doing it all along?
I immediately linked it to my boxing training. Before a fight, a boxer has to be warmed up and sweaty, loose and limber, ready to explode. This is why fighters shadowbox before they walk to the ring. They really do pace! They also dance, weave, turn on their heels, and move their heads to the invisible rhythm. Maybe get some quick pushups in while moving around, anything to just keep that body in motion.
Even though all of this is really just tantamount to standing in a room, the boxer has already flexed their muscles, and stretched their limbs as much as they would have during a good workout.
This is how you “get into the mood” before a big fight. It clears your mind, too!
For me personally, it’s a way of meditation. Just me, in a cage, thundering around in it like a wild animal, but with human diligence. Calms me down when life gets too heavy.
But for someone just trying to get those daily ten miles in, all that motion becomes something even more utilitarian.
“Pacing” or, being physically active during traditionally sedentary activities, then becomes a solution to one of the biggest banes of the modern age: sitting down for too long.
Your body is beautiful, and wants to be in motion
We all know the dangers of being too sedentary. A rolling stone gathers no moss, and the active slave gets more love-slaps. There’s a reason university lectures last for three hours or less.
Research shows sitting down slows the blood flow to the brain, and this affects you in different, super-scary ways as you age.
Our joints were made to bend, and our legs were meant to carry us places. All that motion is meant to stimulate our brains as well as our bodies. It’s all hooked up inside the body, you dig?
Thinking about the aesthetic and mechanical beauty of the human body makes takes me back to my old anatomy classes back in college. We are all made of art and science. This thought brings me peace, and it makes me feel connected to the other members of my species in some distant, slightly sexy way.
” Sofa? Funny. Your face is where I wanna sit!”
This was the response I received from my Goddess after I asked her if she wanted to relax on the sofa. She had just completed ten miles after all.
This beautiful reason is why I’m willing to play devil’s advocate for Team Sitting.
I adore a good sit, you kidding? Some of life’s best moments happen while you’re copping a squat.
On a sunny day, overlooking rolling, jade hills and waterfalls? Or on a rocky cliff, overlooking a windswept beach? These are sits that are more than worth the bad blood flow, in my opinion.
Or when my beloved sits on my face? I strive to be the best seat in the world, because my service is my pleasure
Why this sub is determined to pick up the pace
But back to why I think “Pacing” is genius, and why I’m going to be doing a whole lot more of it, moving forward.
I wouldn’t say I follow any philosophy all the way to its end (other than femdom), but I absolutely love picking and taking from sources that I think might have something good to offer.
Utilitarianism is a big one for me. I would never follow it all the way to its, mean, unempathetic conclusion, but there is something so…mathematically crunchy about pleasing two dommes with one tongue, if you catch my drift.
If I can get my workout in while I’m at my desk job, then I’ll have made myself a stronger and sharper slave by doing nearly nothing at all. My coworkers better get ready to watch me crank a set of pushups every thirty minutes, because this is how I’m going to pace. Hear my roar.
And I’m not going to lie, the thought of writing for FemdomU while walking miles at the same time? That’s the sexiest example of two birds and one stone that I can think of. I’m gonna do more of that too.
So, this coming June, I think I’ll be doing a lot more moving around in living rooms, and shadowboxing at the office every few minutes. I love carrying the lessons of my Queen everywhere I go. Even as I write this, I’m doing it on this cool, rising desk I got for a song on craigslist. Right hand to goddess, I wrote this whole thing standing up and moving around!
And yeah, I may have written it nude too, but that has nothing to do with pacing.
I just felt it appropriate.
Yep, love this. Have the sit/stand desk and my watch to bug me to move more. I tend to be a pacer when I”m on calls – it’s a big reason I really don’t like video conferences. I need to keep this in mind more!
Bro, that standing desk was such a goddess-send for me.
It’s brought me nothing but joy.
Certainly food for thought on this one, you don’t realise how just walking around / pacing can tally up pretty quick.
Maybe this is finally a reason to get a smart watch or something to track my steps, set goals and beat them.
It was only yesterday too that my wife mentioned getting a flat treadmill for her desk for working at home, maybe there’s something in it – I’d just need to work a way to convert our WFH desks to support standing – guess it would work for meetings in the short term though.
Also it’s a little joke (I mean we joke but it does plant a seed in my mind) that I have ADHD – purely from the aspect that I can have a job in my mind, but I get side tracked, like repeatedly and can end up turning 1 job into 5-6 instead, but where I’m going with this is – I wonder how many extra steps this extra running around clocks up to being.
Great post though BGL so many thoughts – that I need to put into action.
Thanks, 11.
Let me tell you, those flat treadmills work so well with a standing desk.
I can write, do my taxes, and play games on my computer all the while getting some miles in.
Like, I would never be an advocate for someone to just go up and buy something…but I feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth.
Sounds like it’s a worth while investment- I do feel like I’m chained to a desk most of the time. Think I’m convinced. Maybe I surprise the wife with one and see if I can get some use out of it too.
You hit the nail on the head, 11.
“Chained to the desk” is one of the most SOUL CRUSHING feelings the modern age has ever boned us with.
It’s why I have to keep regular hikes. If I don’t, I’ll never see the sunshine.
I only want to be chained by dominas, not by capitalism.
Well, mentioned it to the wife ‘I’ve been talking about those for ages!’. To be fair we had talked in the past but always put it on the maybe pile.
But today, I have jumped on Amazon and ordered on. Went entry level for budget – I mean buying is one thing, using it and fitting it in is another.
Both of us seem willing though so maybe we’ll need a second?!
Well done – a great piece for the Sub’s corner for your comrades, but helpful for all our readers. The Domme who taught you this tapped into a simple and long-known concept – basically, stay active. But that she not only adhered to it in her life, she instilled it into your lifestyle is a testament to her ability to care for and train her sub.
Your words do me honor, Domme Jessica.
Seriously, getting your thumbs up on my first article has me smiling from ear to ear. Gracias con todo mi corazon, diosa.
And you’re right! In other parts of the world, people don’t need to torture themselves at the gym for two hours.
They just stay active in little ways all day. They get those miles in by default.
This is absolutely why I still always take the stairs over the elevator, apart from it being the funner option, in my opinion.
Oh, and yes! This should have been the first thing I said:
My Beloved is both my goddess and my teacher. I love to sit at her feet and learn. She always has so much wisdom to share with this unworthy rouge.
Pacing just so happens to be one of those lessons of hers that makes me smile to talk about.
Thank you again, Domme Jessica. Just had to give my queen her due!
Thanks for sharing. One thing I do when having a long phone conversation is pace around the the room. If at home I walk from room to the other. Great article.
That’s the way to do it, Exibish. You know exactly what I’m talking about.
And thanks, man! Glad you liked the read.
Nice piece man! I often feel most myself when I’m on a hike exploring the mountains. There is something about long walks in nature that really gets the wheels turning in my head. I think after reading this I’ll start bringing a journal with me to write some of these kooky ideas down.
Ah, I miss the mountains.
I’m from out west, but currently near the great lakes, and I miss them bad. Still some choice hiking out here, but there’s a specific type of serenity to a mountain that I have yet to find anywhere else.
Thanks, MLP. You know exactly what I mean.
Good job, my boxerboy. Your first feature in the Magazine, and very useful information.
I aims to please, boss.
I’m only going to get better under your tutelage.
